This individual should possess the skills, drive and personality to anchor live radio newscasts and TV live shots in the field for our news department. All applicants should possess a strong background in radio/TV news with excellent writing and communications skills. As a newsperson, this individual will be assigned stories, live news events, scheduled meetings and events for radio and TV, coordinating coverage, writing and performing live newscasts. Applicants should have social media and website skills and understand Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media outlets. Applicants should have the ability to digitally edit audio and video. Flood Broadcasting, Inc. is looking to hire an AM Program Director. This position will host the KNCY-AM and FM translator morning show and hourly news broadcasts on both stations, which will feature local content regarding news matters, community and area events with extra emphasis on local and area sports interviews and features. This person will cover news and sports stories and coordinate the entire news, sports and information efforts of the radio stations, including supervision of one full time associate news position and one part-time news staffer. This person will also make all programming decisions for KNCY-AM and will responsible for news content. This person will broadcast high school sports games and oversee the play-by-play efforts of both stations. The news, sports and information department will also ensure that the stations’ websites are populated with local news, sports and information using video and pictures whenever possible. The news, sports & information director will work from 6 AM to 2 PM Monday through Friday with the exception of Friday night high school sports coverage during the school year. This person will be responsible for training and scheduling the part time news staffer to cover weekday night meetings in the coverage area. The news, sports & information department will also make serious efforts to ensure that spot news is covered by any staffer in the programming department which shall also include live coverage of major events.
