LOAN TO BE USED FOR FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR A CULINARY INCUBATOR

     THE NEBRASKA CITY CITY COUNCIL HELD ANOTHER PUBLIC HEARING FOR AN LB-840 LOAN REQUEST AT THEIR FIRST DECEMBER COUNCIL MEETING MONDAY NIGHT.

     THE REQUEST CAME FROM NEBRASKA CITY'S TOURISM AND COMMERCE OFFICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $11,250 FOR A MARKET FEASABILITY STUDY.

     NEBRASKA CITY TOURISM AND COMMERCE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TIM PENDRELL TOLD THE COUNCIL THE FUNDS WERE GOING TO BE USED TO SEE WHAT IT WOULD TAKE TO GET A CULINARY INCUBATOR BROUGHT TO TOWN.

     PENDRELL SAYS THE STUDY WILL LAY OUT A PLAN TO TAKE TO INVESTORS TO RAISE THE MONEY OUT OF FOUNDATIONS AND PRIVATE INVESTORS TO BUILD THIS. AFTER THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED, THE COUNCIL APPROVED THE LOAN REQUEST.

     IN OTHER NEWS FROM THE MEETING, THE COUNCIL DENIED TWO CITIZEN REQUESTS INCLUDING AMENDING THE CITY CODE TO ALLOW ELECTRIC PET FENCES, AND A REQUEST FOR A DESIGNATED HANDICAP PARKING SPOT ON 7TH AVENUE. THE COUNCIL ALSO TABLED THE APPROVAL OF THE 2014 WILDWOOD GOLF COURSE RATES BECAUSE OF A CONCERN OF RAISING THE FEES FOR SEASON PASS HOLDERS, BUT NOT FOR EVERYDAY WALK UP CUSTOMERS.

     THE COUNCIL ALSO APPROVED THE RELEASE OF A LIEN ON THE PROPERTY AT 910 4TH CORSO, AND CHANGED THE CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM DEADLINE FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO TUESDAY EVENING AT 5 AND THE DEPARTMENT HEADS TO WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS AT NOON.

     THE NEXT MEETING OF THE NEBRASKA CITY CITY COUNCIL WILL CONVENE MONDAY DECEMBER 16TH BEGINNING AT 6 O CLOCK INSIDE THE WILLIAM F DAVIS ROOM IN NEBRASKA CITY.
