MEAT TO BE DISTRIBUTED BY SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA COMMUNITY ACTION

              OVER ONE THOUSAND POUNDS OF GROUND VENISION HAVE BEEN DONATED FROM THE KNCY LISTENING AREA TO HELP FEED THE STATES HUNGRY.

 

              ACCORDING TO TERESSA LOMBARD, THE COORDINATOR OF THE HUNTERS HELPING THE HUNGRY PROGRAM, 20 DEER HAVE BEEN DONATED BETWEEN DEN'S COUNTRY MEATS IN TABLE ROCK AND PELICAN’S MEAT PROCESSING IN JOHNSON, DOUBLING THE AMOUNT OF DEER DONATED TO THE PROGRAM FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR.

             

              LOMBARD SAYS STATEWIDE NUMBERS HAVE BEEN HIGHER THIS YEAR AS WELL.

              THE GROUND VENISON DONATED FROM THE KNCY LISTENING AREA WILL BE DISTRIBUTED BY THE SOUTHEAST COMMUNITY ACTION OFFICES TO NEBRASKANS IN CASS, OTOE, JOHNSON, NEMAHA, PAWNEE AND RICHARDSON COUNTIES.

 

              AND WITH THE LATE FIREARM SEASON RUNNING FROM NOW UNTIL JANUARY 18TH, HUNTERS CAN DONATE ANY DEER THEY HARVEST TO DEN’S COUNTRY MEATS OR PELICAN’S MEAT PROCESSING BY JANUARY 21ST AND THE PROCESSING FEES WILL BE PICKED UP BY THE PROGRAM.
