By Nate Gonner 12/12/2013

THE TWO STATE SENATORS REPRESENTING THE KNCY LISTENING AREA ARE EXPECTING MUCH DEBATE THIS UPCOMING LEGISLATIVE SESSION REGARDING HEALTHCARE EXPANSION.

BOTH SYRACUSE SENATOR DAN WATERMEIER OF SYRACUSE AND PAPILLION STATE SENATOR BILL KINTNER EXPECTS HEAVY DEBATE OVER EXPANDING THE STATES MEDICAID PROGRAM.

SENATOR WATERMEIER IDENTIFIED HEALTHCARE REFORM AS ONE OF HIS TOP FIVE PRIORITIES FOR THE NEXT LEGISLATIVE SESSION, AND SAYS THE LEGISLATURE HAS TO FOCUS ON THE BIG PICTURE AND NOT GETTING FOCUSED ON MEDICAID EXPANSION AS THE MAIN TOPIC.

AS FOR SENATOR KINTNER, HE SAYS EXPANDING MEDICAID WOULD HURT THE STATE IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE.
