AUBURN MOVING ON AFTER GOING 1-15 THE LAST TWO SEASONS

AFTER STRUGGLING THE PAST TWO FOOTBALL SEASON, IT LOOKS LIKE THE AUBURN BULLDOGS WILL BE HEADING IN A NEW DIRECTION.

AUBURN ATHLETIC DIRECTOR KEVIN WALKER SAID THURSDAY MORNING THAT HE WOULD NOT BE RENEWING THE CONTRACT OF HEAD FOOTBALL COACH KELLEN CONROY FOR THE 2013 SEASON.

WALKER SAID THE MOVE IS NOT A REFLECTION OF CONROY AS A PERSON WHO IS A CONSISTANT PROFESSIONAL, A WONDERFUL TEACHER AND A PERSON WITH A STRONG PASSION FOR THE GAME BUT THAT IT WAS TIME FOR AUBURN TO MOVE THE PROGRAM IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION.

IN THREE YEARS WITH THE BULLDOGS, CONROY COMPILED A RECORD OF 4 AND 20 INCLUDING GOING 1 AND 15 OVER THE PAST TWO SEASONS.

WALKER SAID THE SEARCH FOR A NEW COACH WOULD START IMMEDIATELY BUT WOULDN’T SET A TIME TABLE AS TO WHEN A NEW COACH COULD BE HIRED.
