SAFE RIDE HAD BEEN IDLE SINCE AFTER ST PARTICKS DAY

              8 MONTHS AFTER BEING SHUTDOWN BY THE NEBRASKA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION, A NEBRASKA CITY SHUTTLE SERVICE WILL BE BACK ON THE ROAD THIS WEEKEND.

 

              SAFE RIDE SHUTTLE, CREATED BY NEBRASKA CITY RESIDENTS TRAVIS GILLESPIE AND FRANK TROMBINO, HAS BEEN OFF THE ROAD SINCE THE WEEKEND AFTER ST PATRICKS DAY AFTER AN ANOMOUS CALLER SAID THE DRIVERS WERE ACCEPTING TIPS.

              ACCORDING TO THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION ITS AGAINST THE LAW FOR A NOT FOR PROFIT BUSINESS TO ACCEPT MONEY OF ANY KIND, EVEN IN TIP FORM.

 

              NOW SEVERAL MONTHS LATER ,GILLESPIE AND TROMBINO HAVE DONE ALL THE REQUIRED STEPS INCLUDING GETTING A MILLION AND A HALF INSURANCE POLICYAND FILING FOR COMMERCIAL PERMITS, AND ARE READY TO SERVE NEBRASKA CITY'S BAR PARTONS GET HOME SAFELY.

 

              GILLESPIE SAYS BECAUSE THEY HAVE A COMMERCIAL PERMIT NOW, THE RIDES WILL COST A SMALL FEE, WHICH THE SHUTTLE PLANS ON COVERING.

              SAFE RIDE SHUTTLE WILL RUN FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT FROM 8 IN THE EVENING UNTIL 2 IN THE MORNING AND WILL DRIVE ANYONE HOME WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF NEBRASKA CITY.
