AUTHORITIES LOOKING INTO GOOSEHILL RAILROAD CROSSING SABATOGE

              THE OTOE COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE IS INVESTIGATION THE POSSIBLE SABATOGE OF A RAILROAD CROSSING IN NEBRASKA CITY.

 

              ACCORDING TO THE SHERIFFS OFFICE, THE UNION PACIFIC SIGNAL OPERATIONS CENTER IN OMAHA DETECTED A PROBLEM WITH THE RAILROAD CROSSING AT GOOSE HILL ROAD IN NEBRASKA CITY AROUND 10:30 MONDAY NIGHT.

 

              WHEN COMING OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM, THE OPERATOR FOUND AN IMPROVISED DEVICE ON THE TRACKS SET TO DELAY THE WARNING LIGHTS FROM FLASHING. 

 

              NORMALLY THE LIGHTS WARN PEOPLE WHEN A TRAIN IS 1500 FEET AWAY BUT WITH THE DEVICE IN PLACE IT WOULD OF GIVEN PEOPLE WARNING WHEN A TRAIN WAS 300 FEET AWAY.

 

              THE SHERIFFS OFFICE SAID THEY WERE STILL INVESTAGATING THE INCIDENT AT THIS TIME.
