KINTNER PRAISES INCREASES IN FUNDING FOR EDUCATION

            ONE OF NEBRASKA CITY’S VOICES IN LINCOLN SPENT HIS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON TALKING WITH THE CITY’S LEADERS ABOUT HIS IMPRESSIONS OF HIS FIRST LEGISLATIVE SESSION IN LINCOLN.

 

              SENATOR BILL KINTNER OF PAPILLION TALKED AT LENGTH ABOUT THE STATES TWO YEAR BUDGET, INCLUDING HIGHLIGHTING HOW THE LEGISLATURE INCREASED EDUCATION SPENDING 5.5% AS A POSITIVE STEP FOR THE STATE.

 

              KINTNER ALSO CRITIZED GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS SET UP THIS SESSION BY ALMOST 53 MILLION DOLLARS OF SURPLUS MONEY INCLUDING LB-368, WHICH WILL CREATE A SUBSIDIZED PROGRAM THAT GIVES EMPLOYERS INCENTIVES TO HIRE NEW EMPLOYEES FOR JOB EXPERIENCE FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS.

 

              KINTNER SAYS HE RAN ON A PLATFORM OF CUTTING TAXES BECAUSE HIS GOALS IS TO IMPROVE THE STATES ECONOMIC ACTIVITY.

              KINTNER SAYS HE PLANNING ON KNOCKING ON A COUPLE HUNDRED MORE DOORS TO MEET WITH EVERY MEMBER OF HIS DISTRICT, ALONG WITH TOURING A HANDFUL OF BUSINESSES AS WELL.

 

              KINTNER IS ALSO PLANNING ON SPENDING CLOSE TO A WEEK OUT ON THE WESTERN PART OF THE STATE LATER THIS SUMMER TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUES ARE ON THAT SIDE OF THE STATE.
