TROOP LETS PALMERTON'S FAMILY KNOW THEY AREN'T FORGOTTEN

             OVER 100 PEOPLE GATHERED AROUND THE NEMAHA COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON TO HONOR A FORMER AUBURN RESIDENT WHO MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRAFICE FOR OUR FREEDOM.

 

              FORMER AUBURN RESIDENT JASON PALMERTON WAS KILLED WHILE ON TOUR WITH THE ARMY SPECIAL FORCES ON JULY 23, 2005.

             MEMBERS OF PALMERTON’S FAMILY AND FORMER TROOP, INCLUDING CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER JOHNNY GLENN AND CAPTAIN WILLIAM WRIGHT WERE IN ATTENDANCE TO HONOR HIM.

 

              CAPTAIN WRIGHT ADDRESSED THE FAMILY, SAYING JUST LIKE THEIR SON, HIS FAMILY HASN’T BEEN FORGOTTEN BY THE MEN WHO SERVED WITH HIM.

              CAPTAIN WRIGHT AND CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER GLENN PRESENTED JASON’S FAMILY WITH A PLAQUE FROM THEIR CAMP NAMED CAMP PALMERTON IN HONOR OF JASON.

             THE CITY OF AUBURN SENT THE TWO SOLIDERS BACK WITH A PICTURE COLLLEAGE HIGHLIGHTING THE NEMAHA COUNTY VETERANS MEMORAL WHICH INCLUDES JASON PALMERTON’S NAME.
