TURPEL TO BECOME FIRE CHIEF IN FORT LAUDERDALE FL

             ONE OF THE MEN INSTURMENTAL IN ESTABLISHING THE MERGER OF THE FIRE AND RESCUE SQUAD IN NEBRASKA CITY IS LEAVING THE DEPARTMENT TO HEAD BACK TO HIS HOME STATE OF FLORIDA.

 

              IN A MOVE HE CALLED BITTERSWEET, EMS PARAMEDIC MANAGER RODNEY TURPEL GAVE HIS RESIGNATION AT MONDAY NIGHT’S CITY COUNCIL MEETING AFTER ACCEPTING THE JOB AS FIRE CHIEF OF NORTH FORT LAUDERDALE, FL.

 

              TURPEL HELPED SPEARHEAD THE MERGER BETWEEN THE FIRE AND RESCUE DEPARTMENT IN THE SUMMER OF 2008, AND WAS HIRED AS PARAMEDIC MANAGER IN JULY OF 2009.

 

              TURPEL TOLD THE COUNCIL HE IS GRATEFUL FOR THE OPPROTUNITY TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY AND DESPITE HIS DEPARTURE; THE SQUAD WILL NOT MISS A BEAT.
