300 PLUS ATTENDING THE UNVEILING OF 72 ARTISTIC TREES

             SATURDAY AFTERNOON OVER THREE HUNDRED PEOPLE WITNESSED THE UNVEILING OF A PROJECT THAT WILL IMPACT NEBRASKA CITY’S COMMUNITY FOR YEARS TO COME.

 

              72 TREES WERE UNVEILED AS APART OF “AN ENCHANTED ARBORETUM”, NEBRASKA CITY’S FIRST MAJOR PUBLIC ART PROJECT.

 

              PROJECT COORDINATOR AND LINCOLN ARTIST  LIZ SHEA MCCOY SAYS THE ARTISTS OF THIS PROJECT STARTED A LEGACY FOR THE NEBRASKA CITY COMMUNITY THAT WILL BE FELT FOR YEARS TO COME.

              STUDENTS FROM NEBRASKA CITY PUBLIC, LOURDES CENTRAL CATHOLIC, AND THE NEBRASKA SCHOOL FOR THE EDUCATION OF THE BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED, CREATED 47 4 FOOT TREES ALONG WITH FOUR 6 FOOT TREES WITH THE REST OF THE 21 6 FOOT TREES BEING DONE BY PROFESSIONAL ARTIST.

 

              THE TREES WILL BE DISPLAY AROUND NEBRASKA CITY FOR THE SUMMER BEFORE BEING AUCTIONED OFF IN LATE SEPTEMBER.
