UNCERTAINY IF POOL WILL STAY OPEN FOR THE FULL SUMMER

              NEBRASKA CITY ROTARY MEMBERS HEARD WEDNESDAY JUST HOW BAD OF SHAPE THE CITY’S SWIMMING POOL CURRENTLY IS IN.

 

              NEBRASKA CITY OPENED STEINHART PARK POOL BACK IN 1970, AND ACCORDING TO NEBRASKA CITY SPLASH COMMITTEE MEMBERS PHIL SILVIUS AND PAM FRANA, THE POOL THAT WAS BUILT BACK THEN WAS SUPPOSE TO LAST THE CITY FOR UP TO 35 YEARS.

 

              SILVIUS AND FRANA POINTED OUT NUMEROUS DEFICIENCIES WITH THE POOL INCLUDING NOT BEING UP TO ADA REQUIREMENTS, DETERORATING STRUCTURES, AND EVEN THE INDEFINITE CLOSURE OF THE KIDDIE POOL FOR THIS UPCOMING SEASON.

 

              SILVIUS SAYS THERES A POSSIBILITY THE POOL COULD GET SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY IF THE PROBLEMS PRESIST.

              THE SPLASH COMMITTEE IS INCLUDING SURVEYS IN YOUR UPCOMING UTILITY BILL.

 

              THE COMMITTEEE IS ASKING FOR YOU TO FILL THOSE OUT AND RETURN THEM TO CITY HALL BY MAY 15TH.

 

              THE NEBRASKA CITY ROTARY CLUB MEETS EVERY WEDNESDAY AT NOON AT THEIR NEW LOCATION AT THE NEBRASKA CITY EAGLES CLUB.
