STUDY LOOKS AT HOW WOMEN CAN KEEP LOST WEIGHT OFF

             THE UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA MEDICIAL CENTER IS LOOKING FOR OLDER WOMEN INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN A NEW STUDY TO TRY AND FIND NEW WAYS TO KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF AFTER YOU LOSE IT.

 

              THE STUDY WILL FOCUS ON WOMEN AGES 40 TO 64 WHO HAVE LOST AT LEAST 5 PERCENT OF THEIR BODY WEIGHT IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS, AND IT WILL FOCUS ON WOMEN FROM THE SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA COUNTIES OF NEMAHA, JOHNSON, OTOE, PAWNEE, AND RICHARDSON.

 

              DR TERESA BARRY-HULQUIST IS THE DOCTOR CONDUCTING THE SURVEY AND SAYS SHE WANTED TO FOCUS ON RURAL AREAS BECAUSE SHE GREW UP IN A RURAL AREA AND THEY DON’T HAVE AS MANY RESOURCES TO HELP PEOPLE LOSE WEIGHT AS AN URBAN CITY LIKE OMAHA WOULD.

 

              SHE SAYS THE GOAL OF THE STUDY IS TO LOOK FOR ACTIVITIES IN YOUR EVERY DAY LIFE THAT YOU CAN INCREASE THAT WILL HELP YOU KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF.
