BREHN SAYS ELIMINATION OF EXEMPTIONS WOULD COST HIM THOUSANDS

By Nate Gonner 2/07/2013

THE OTOE COUNTY FARM BUEARU PRESIDENT SAYS HE HAS CRUNCHED THE NUMBERS AND IF THE STATE INCOME TAX WAS ELIMINATED, HE WOULD PAY TWELVE TO THIRTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS MORE IN TAXES EACH YEAR.

THE FARM BUEARU HAS SPOKE OUT AGAINST GOVERNOR HENIEMAN PLAN TO ELIMINATE THE STATES INDIVIDUAL AND COROPRATE INCOME TAX THIS WEEK.

WHY IS BECAUSE HENIEMAN IS GOING TO OFFSET THE LOST REVENUE BY ELIMINATING 2.4 BILLION DOLLARS IN STATE SALE TAX EXEMPTIONS, INCLUDING SEVERAL TO AGRICULTURE AND MANUFACTURING BUSINESSES.

OTOE COUNTY FARM BUEARU PRESIDENT RANDY BREHN IS A SMALL FARMER FROM UNIDILLA.

HE SAYS BEING SO CLOSE TO OTHER MIDWEST STATES IS MAKING HIM CONSIDER LEAVING THE STATE TO FARM IF THE SALES TAX EXEMPTIONS ARE ELIMINATED.

            BREHN AUDIO

BREHN SAID FOR THOSE WHO STRONGLY OPPOSE THE ELIMINATION OF SALE TAX EXEMPTIONS NEED TO CONTACT THEIR LOCAL STATE SENATOR, WHICH FOR OTOE COUNTY IS DAN WATERMEIER OF SYRACUSE.
