SMITH WORKED FOR 45 YEARS FOR THE OMAHA WORLD HERALD

              A PRESENTATION REGARDING THE EXHIBIT “HIDDEN IN PLAIN VIEW” ON DISPLAY RIGHT NOW AT PERU STATE COLLEGE WILL TAKE PLACE THIS EVENING AT COLLEGE THEATER IN PERU.

 

              THE EXHIBIT HIGHLIGHTS RUDOLPH “RUDY” SMITH’S 45 YEAR CAREER AS A PHOTOGRAPHER AND REPORTER FOR THE OMAHA WORLD HERALD, INCLUDING PHOTOS OF FROM THE RIOTS THAT ERUPTED IN NORTH OMAHA IN THE SUMMER OF 1969 DURING THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT.

 

              PERU STATE ART PROFESSOR KEN ANDERSON SAYS SMITH’S EXHIBIT HAS A WIDE COLLECTION OF PHOTOS.

              ANDERSON SAYS ONE OF HIS FAVORITE PHOTO’S OF SMITH’S IS ONE HE TOOK OF BOBBY KENNEDY DOWN ON ERSKINE STREET IN THE LATE 60’S WHEN HE WAS CAMPAIGNING FOR PRESIDENT.

 

              THE PUBLIC IS WELCOME TO HEAR SMITH SPEAK ABOUT HIS LIFE AND CAREER THIS EVENING FROM 6:30 TO 7:15 AT THE COLLEGE THEATER ON THE PERU STATE COLLEGE CAMPUS.
