By Nate Gonner 1/24/2013

SPECULATION IS STARTING TO SURFACE ABOUT THE POSSBILITY OF ONE OF NEBRASKA CITY’S BIGGEST EMPLOYERS CLOSING PART OF THEIR PLANT.

IT HAS BEEN REPORTED TO KNCY NEWS FROM PEOPLE CLOSE TO MEMBERS INSIDE THE AMERICAN METER PLANT IN NEBRASKA CITY, THAT THE COMPANY IS CONSIDERING CLOSING THEIR DIECAST PART OF THE PLANT.

THE MOVE WOULD AFFECT THE JOB STATUS OF ANYWHERE BETWEEN 50 TO 150 EMPLOYEES AND IS EXPECTED TO TAKE EFFECT IN SEPTEMBER.

KNCY NEWS SPOKE WITH EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT KATHY SADLER ABOUT THE ACCUSATION.

SHE SAID SHE COULDN’T COMMENT ON THE ISSUE BUT DID SAY SHE WOULD GET A HOLD OF THE PERSON WHO COULD TO EITHER ISSUE A STATEMENT OR A PRESS RELEASE.

SADLER DIDN’T GIVE US THE NAME OF THE INDIVIDUAL WHO COULD COMMENT, BUT ALSO DIDN’T OUTRIGHT DISPUTE THE CLAIM IN A SHORT CONVERSATION SHE HAD WITH KNCY NEWS.

STAY TUNED TO KNCY FOR NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THIS STORY.
