REDUCTION WILL ONLY AFFECT PERCENTAGE PAID TO SCHOOLS

              THE STATE SENATOR FROM SYRACUSE SAYS HIS PROPOSED LEGISLATION WOULD HELP DECREASE PROPERTY TAXES FOR OWNERS OF AGRICULTURE LAND AND HORICULTURE LAND OWNERS.

 

              SENATOR DAN WATERMEIER OF SYRACUSE SAID THROUGHOUT THE CAMPAIGN TO BECOME THE FIRST DISTRICT STATE REPRESENTATIVE THAT HE HEARD A LOT OF CONCERN FROM HOME AND LAND OWNERS ABOUT PROPERTY TAXES.

 

              WATERMEIER SAYS, IF LEGISLATIVE BILL 101 GETS PASSED INTO LAW, AG AND HORICULTURE LAND WOULDN’T BE TAXED AS HIGHLY BY THE COUNTY SCHOOLS.

              WATERMEIER ADDED THAT WITH GOVERNOR HENIEMAN PROPOSING THE ELIMINATION OF THE STATE INCOME TAX, THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY COULD BE ASKED TO STEP UP AMID SALES EXEMPTIONS CHANGING THE FACE OF THE INDUSTY.
