By Nate Gonner 1/16/2013

THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR OF NEBRASKA CITY SAYS HE IS KEEPING AN EYE ON ROUGHLY 65 TO 100 PIECES OF LEGISLATION PROPOSED SINCE SESSION BEGAN LAST WEEK.

HOWEVER, CITY ADMINISTRATOR JOE JOHNSON SAYS NEBRASKA’S TOP PRIORITY THIS LEGISLATIVE SESSION IS TO KEEP A PAST BILL FROM BEING REPEALED.

THE BUILD NEBRASKA ACT WAS SIGNED INTO LAW A FEW YEARS AGO, WHICH GIVES A PERCENTAGE OF SALES TAX AND DIRECTS IT TO THE STATES ROAD PROJECTS.

JOHNSON SAYS IF THE ACT IS REPEALED FUNDING FOR ROAD PROJECT, INCLUDING INVOLVING ONE OF THE STATES DANGEROUS INTERSECTIONS, WOULD BE GONE.
