DISTRICT HEALTH DIRECTOR SAYS MOST CASES REPORTED IN OTOE CO.

              THE HEALTH DIRECTOR OF THE SOUTHEAST DISTRICT HEALTH DEPARTMENT SAYS THERE ARE CASES OF FLU IN ALL FIVE COUNTIES COVERED BY THE DISTRICT, WITH THE MOST SIGNIFICANT NUMBERS COMING FROM OTOE COUNTY.

 

              HEALTH DIRECTOR KAY OESTMAN SAYS SHE SAW A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN THE FLU EPIDEMIC IN SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO.

 

              OESTMAN SAYS PEOPLE ARE CATCHING THE FLU A NUMBER OF DIFFERNET WAYS, FROM SPENDING TIMES AT GROUP FUNCTIONS LIKE BASKETBALL GAMES OR CHOIR RECITALS TO EVEN TOUCHING COMMON THINGS SUCH AS PUBLIC DOORKNOBS.

 

              SHE SAYS THE BIGGEST THING PEOPLE CAN DO TO FIGHT THE FLU, BESIDES GETTING THE FLU SHOT, WOULD BE TO WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY.
