CARPENTER EXPECTS LEGISLATURE TO PASS FREEZE THROUGH

By Nate Gonner 1/10/2013

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE NEBRASKA STATE COLLEGE SYSTEM SAYS IT TOOK ABOUT TWO HOURS TO CALL BACK, AND ENTHUSIASTICALLY SAY YES TO THE GOVERNOR’S PLAN TO FREEZE TUITION FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA AND THE STATE COLLEGE SYSTEM.

UPON APPROVAL FROM THE LEGISLATURE, TUITION FOR THE 2013-14 AND 2014-15 SCHOOL YEARS WOULD STAY AT THE SAME RATE FOR STUDENTS GOING TO THESE INSTITUTIONS, WHICH INCLUDES PERU STATE COLLEGE.

STAN CARPENTER, CHANCELLOR OF THE NEBRASKA STATE COLLEGE SYSTEM, SAYS THERE ARE ADVANTAGES FOR BOTH THE STUDENTS AND THE COLLEGES.

CARPENTER SAYS THE TUTION FREEZES COULD MEAN STUDENTS CAN WORK LESS HOURS, POSSIBLY TAKE MORE CLASSES AND COULD EVEN HELP STUDENTS GRADUATE ON TIME.

AS FOR THE INSTITUTIONS LIKE PERU STATE COLLEGE:
