NEW ORDINANCE ALLOWS POLE SIGNS FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2003

          NEBRASKA CITY BUSINESSES CAN ONCE AGAIN HAVE A POLE SIGN IN TOWN THANKS TO AN ORDINANCE PASSED AT MONDAY NIGHTS CITY COUNCIL MEETING.

 

          THANKS TO THE UNANIMOUS DECISION BY THE BOARD TO ADOPT THE ORDINANCE 2894-13, THE COMMERICIAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROPERTYS IN NEBRASKA CITY CAN HAVE A POLE SIGN TO ADVERTISE THEIR BUSINESS, SOMETHING BUSINESSES IN TOWN HAVEN’T BEEN ABLE TO DO SINCE 2003.

    

        PUBLIC PROPERTYS MANAGER FOR THE CITY OF NEBRASKA CITY DAN GIITTINGER SAYS THE SIZE OF THE SIGN WILL DEPEND ON HOW CLOSE YOUR BUSINESS IS TO THE RIGHT OF WAY.

         GIITTINGER SAID IT WILL TAKE 15 DAYS FOR THE ORDINANCE TO TAKE EFFECT IN NEBRASKA CITY.

         OTHER AGENDA ITEMS FROM THE MEETING INCLUDED THE CITY UNANIMOUSLY APPROVING THE  ADOPTION OF INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR CONTRACTORS AND LICENSEE’S DOING BUSINESS IN OR FOR NEBRASKA CITY AND THE COUNCIL APPROVED THE ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FIREWORKS ORDINANCE IN TOWN.

       THE NEXT MEETING OF THE NEBRASKA CITY CITY COUNCIL WILL BE HELD MONDAY JANUARY 21ST BEGINNING AT 6 O CLOCK AT CITY HALL IN TOWN.
