HWY 75 RIVALRY RENEWED AS AUBURN AND NEB CITY SPLIT DOUBLE DIP

              ANOTHER CHAPTER OF THE HIGHWAY 75 RIVALRY WAS WRITEN ON SATURDAY ON THE BASKETBALL FLOOR AS AUBURN AND NEBRASKA CITY FACED OFF AT PIONEER PALACE.

 

FRESHMAN PETERSEN PROPELS AUBURN AT THE BUZZER

 

              IT TOOK ALL 32 MINUTES TO DECIDE THE GIRLS CONTEST BETWEEN NEBRASKA CITY AND AUBURN AND IT WAS A FRESHMAN COMING UP WITH A CLUTH PLAY FOR THE BULLDOGS.

 

              AUBURN FRESHMAN TAYLOR PETERSEN SUNK A FIELD GOAL JUST INSIDE THE TOP OF THE KEY WITH NO TIME LEFT AS THE BULLDOGS ESCAPE PIONEER PALACE WITH A 39 TO 37 VICTORY.

              AUBURN WAS LEAD IN SCORING BY SENIOR TIERRA WILLIAMS WHO HAD 14 POINTS AND 6 REBOUNDS FOR THE BULLDOGS.

 

              BULLDOGS HICKORY ROAD BBQ PLAYER OF THE GAME WAS PETERSEN WHO FINISHED WITH 12 POINTS 3 REBOUNDS AND 4 STEALS IN THE WIN.

 

              NEBRASKA CITY’S PLAYER OF THE GAME WAS FRESHMAN ANDREA FRELING, WHO LEAD THE PIONEERS WITH 14 POINTS, 3 REBOUNDS, AND 3 STEALS IN THE LOSS.

 

NEBRASKA CITY WINS WITH BRAZILE ON BENCH IN THE FINAL MOMENTS            

 

              THE TWO STARTING FORWARDS FOR NEBRASKA CITY SAT ON THE BENCH WITH UNDER TWO MINUTES TO PLAY AND WATCHED AS THE PIONEER HELD ON FOR A 42 TO 39 WIN AGAINST AUBURN.

 

              BOTH TANNER BRAZILE AND DAVID PALMTAG HAD FOULED OUT OF THE GAME FOR NEBRASKA CITY AS THE TWO COMBINED FOR 16 POINTS AND 12 REBOUNDS IN THE WIN.

 

              NEBRASKA CITY, WHO WON FOR JUST THE SECOND TIME THIS SEASON, WAS LED IN SCORING BY SENIOR GABE SAMMONS WHO HAD 12 POINTS.

 

              THE PIONEER HICKORY ROAD BBQ PLAYER OF THE GAME WAS SETH ANDERSON WHO HAD 8 POINTS AND 4 REBOUNDS OFF THE BENCH FOR NEBRASKA CITY.

 

              FOR THE BULLDOGS THEIR HICKORY ROAD BBQ PLAYER OF THE GAME WAS CALEB NELSON WHO LED THE TEAM WITH 13 POINTS AND 12 REBOUNDS IN THE LOSS.

 

              THE LOSS SNAPPED A TWO GAME WINNING STREAK FOR AUBURN AFTER THE BULLDOGS STARTED THE SEASON 0 AND 9.
