By Nate Gonner 1/03/2013

IT HAS BEEN A BUSY LAST FOUR MONTHS FOR NEW ELECTED SYRACUSE MAYOR KC ORTIZ.

ORTIZ, WHO OFFICIALLY THREW HIS NAME IN AS A WRITE IN CANDIDATE BACK IN SEPTEMBER, SAYS HE HAS SPENT MUCH OF HIS TIME SINCE BEING SWORN IN ON DECEMBER 12TH GETTING UP TO SPEED ON ALL THE ISSUES FACING THE RESIDENTS OF SYRACUSE.

HE ADDED HE HAS BEEN GETTING ON THE JOB ADVICE FROM THE FORMER MAYOR OF SYRACUSE DAN WHITNEY.

"WE TALKED EARLY ON WHEN I FIRST NOTIFIED HIM THAT I WAS RUNNING AGAINST HIM IN THE ELECTION." ORTIZ SAID "NO MATTER WHAT THE OUTCOME WAS, IF I WON HEWOULD BE IN MY CORNER TO HELP ME OUT AND CONTINUE DOING GREAT THINGS FOR THE COMMUNITY. MR WHITNEY HAS DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB OF HELPING ME OUT."

ORTIZ ADDED HE HAS ALREADY HAD A NUMBER OF RESIDENTS CALL HIM OR STOP BY CITY HALL TO LET THEM KNOW THEIR CONCERNS AND IDEAS FOR SYRACUSE’S FUTURE.

HE IS ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO KEEP LETTING HIM KNOW HOW TO IMPROVE THE TOWN.
