WATERMEIRE TO BE APART OF NEB CITY MEET AND GREET TODAY

By Nate Gonner 1/2/2013

A CHANCE TO SPEAK WITH YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVES HAPPENS THIS AFTERNOON AT THE LIED LODGE AND CONFERENCE CENTER IN NEBRASKA CITY.

STATE SENATORS DAN WATERMEIRE SYRACUSE AND BILL KINTNER OF PAPILLION WILL TALK WITH RESIDENTS OF SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA THIS AFTERNOON, EXACTLY ONE WEEK BEFORE THE TWO NEWLY ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES MAKE THEIR DEBUT IN LINCOLN.

WATERMEIRE SAYS SOME OF THE SAME ISSUES HE HEARD DURING THE ELECTION KEEP POPPING UP IN CONVERSATIONS WITH RESIDENTS.

“I STILL HEAR AN AWFUL LOT ABOUT PROPERTY TAX RELIEF,” WATERMEIRE SAID, “ OF COURSE THAT MAKES SCHOOLS NERVOUS ABOUT TRYING TO REDUCE THE BURDEN ON AG LAND VALUES BECAUSE AG LAND IS WHATS PAYING THE BILLS AS FAR AS THE SCHOOLS (ARE CONCERNED)”

WATERMEIRE ADDED HE IS STILL OPEN TO THE IDEA OF PROPERTY TAX RELIEF BUT SAYS HE IS HEARING AN AWFUL LOT ABOUT REGULATION AND WHAT THE GOVERNMENT CAN DO TO REGULATE TAXES.

THE MEET AND GREET WITH SENATORS WATERMEIRE AND KINTNER IS SET FOR THIS AFTERNOON BEGINNING AT 4:30 AT THE LIED LODGE AND CONFERENCE CENTER IN NEBRASKA CITY.
